Readiday is a personal training coach run by Andrew Sinclair in Hobart, Australia, as an independent project. This policy explains what Readiday collects, why, where it is kept and how to have it deleted. It covers the Readiday iPhone app, its server and its email.
What Readiday collects
| Source | Data | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Garmin Connect | Daily summaries (steps, resting heart rate, HRV, sleep, Body Battery, stress, weight), activities and their training load, and strength sets | Score daily readiness, check which sessions were done, and set strength weights |
| Eight Sleep | Nightly sleep, heart rate and HRV | Readiness |
| Withings | Blood pressure readings | Health trends |
| intervals.icu | Planned and completed workouts | The training calendar the coach adjusts |
| Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In | An account identifier and, if shared, your email address | Signing in to the app |
| The iPhone app | A push notification token and your notification settings | Sending readiness, plan-change and approval notifications |
Readiday does not collect location, contacts, photos, advertising identifiers or analytics, and the app contains no third-party tracking.
How it is used
Only to coach you: scoring readiness, adjusting and rescheduling sessions, writing the morning note and weekly review, sending notifications, and putting workouts on your Garmin calendar. Your data is never sold, used for advertising, or used to train AI models by Readiday.
Where it is stored
Your data and service credentials are stored encrypted in Amazon Web Services in Sydney, Australia (Amazon S3 and AWS Systems Manager Parameter Store). Scheduled jobs that fetch and process data run on a private server in Hobart. If you connect a Google Sheet, a copy of your daily metrics is written to that sheet in your own Google Drive.
Who it is shared with
- Hosting: Amazon Web Services (Sydney, Australia) stores your data and runs the app's server and email; a private server in Hobart run by Readiday runs the scheduled jobs.
- AI processing: OpenRouter and Anthropic, as described under AI and your data.
- Training platforms: planned workouts are written to your intervals.icu and Garmin Connect accounts.
- Delivery: email is sent through Amazon SES, and notifications through Apple Push Notification service.
- Google Sheets, only if you connect one: a copy of your daily metrics in your own Drive.
Your data, including Garmin data, is never sold, rented or shared for advertising. Nothing else is shared, except where the law requires it.
AI and your data
Readiday uses AI for three things: writing the morning note that explains the day's readiness and changes, the weekly review that suggests plan changes, and turning plan requests you type or say into proposed changes. The readiness score, the day's adjustment and the workouts themselves are worked out by fixed rules, not AI. AI never changes your plan on its own: its suggestions wait for you to approve them.
- What is sent: recent health and activity metrics, including data from Garmin Connect (sleep, heart rate, HRV, Body Battery, stress, steps, weight and activities), Eight Sleep and Withings, your planned sessions, and the text of any plan request. Your name, email address and account identifiers are not sent.
- Who processes it: OpenRouter (United States), which passes it to Anthropic's Claude models. Anthropic does not train its models on this data, and Readiday does not train AI models on your data.
- Your consent: Readiday asks for your consent to AI processing before it is used for your account, during setup in the app. You can withdraw it at any time with the Use AI for coaching switch in the app's settings, which takes effect straight away, or by emailing hello@readiday.com with "AI off" (within two business days). From then nothing more is sent to an AI service, the morning email switches to a plain summary of the readiness rules, and the weekly review and plan requests switch off. The rest of Readiday keeps working, and you can turn AI back on the same way.
Garmin data
Data from Garmin Connect is used only to provide the coaching described here, is not shared with other parties except as listed above, and is deleted within 30 days of you disconnecting Garmin or asking for deletion. You can revoke Readiday's access at any time in Garmin Connect under Settings → Connected Apps.
Your data, your choices
Email hello@readiday.com to get a copy of everything Readiday holds about you (as JSON files you can keep or move elsewhere), to correct anything that is wrong, or to delete it. We reply within 30 days.
Data is kept while your account is active. Delete account in the app's settings deletes everything held by Readiday, including service credentials, straight away, and tells Garmin to stop sharing. You can also ask for deletion by email, and it is done within 30 days. Signing out of the app revokes its key on the server straight away. Disconnecting a service in that service's own settings stops new data immediately.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. App keys are stored only as one-way hashes, and service credentials are held in an encrypted secret store rather than in the app.
This website
readiday.com uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful: pages viewed, how you arrived (for example a search or a link), your browser, device type and approximate location (city level), and whether you signed up for the beta. It sets first-party cookies to tell visits apart, IP addresses are anonymised, and the data isn't used for advertising. You can block it with your browser's privacy settings or Google's opt-out add-on. Fonts are served from this site. Amazon CloudFront, which delivers the pages, keeps standard request logs such as IP address and page for security and is not used to identify you. The app itself has no analytics.
Health information
Readiday gives training suggestions, not medical advice. It is not a medical device. See a doctor about symptoms or before changing training if you have a medical condition.
